How Safe is Your Car? See NCAP Rating

Consider these results before buying your favorite car…!! Ncap the global New Car Assessment Programme was established in 1979, by the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a vision to create safer and better cars for the civilians by conducting various crash tests in their test arena and making it simple to understand by the rating system. Ncap test encourages manufacturers to manufacture better safer cars.

There is a list of some cars confined to segments:


RENAULT Kwid (IV) – Driver Airbag, Renault Kwid (III) – Driver Airbag

• Suzuki Maruti Swift – 2 Airbags, Suzuki Maruti Swift – NO Airbags

Hyundai i10 – NO Airbags, Suzuki Maruti Celerio – NO Airbags

•Volkswagen Polo – NO Airbags, Volkswagen Polo – 2 Airbags


• TATA Zest – 2 Airbags TATA Zest – NO Airbags

• Ford Aspire (NextGen Figo) – 2 Airbags

MPV’s/mid SUVs:

• Tata Nexon – 2 Airbags

In the first picture which is providing information about different cars shows 3rd car from the top as tata zest which (according to the report) has 2 airbags, in next column it has 4 stars and in chlid safety column it has got 2 stars but if we see 6th car from the bottom it is again tata zest with almost opposite results……


    1. Hi,
      NCAP tests the model with both airbags installed and with no air bags, to give you an idea how safe your car is with and without them.
      Some models dont have airbags in their base variant, the second image shows what will happen to you in that car with no airbags.


  2. Aw, this was a very nice post. In thought I want to put in writing like this additionally – taking time and precise effort to make a very good article… however what can I say… I procrastinate alot and by no means appear to get something done.
