Next-gen Skoda Octavia to be unveiled on November 11.

Earlier this year, Skoda India’s sales, service and marketing head, Zac Hollis, confirmed to Autocar India that the new Octavia will go on sale in India within 2020. The Czech carmaker was originally expected to unveil the next-gen Octavia at the 2019 Frankfurt motor show, though new reports indicate that Skoda will officially reveal the new Octavia in notchback form at a standalone event on November 11, 2019.


BMW M5 Competition launched at Rs 1.55 crore.

BMW has just launched the performance-focused version of the M5 sedan – the sporty iteration of the 5 Series – called the M5 Competition. The German carmaker brought the M5 Competition via the CBU route, with prices starting from Rs 1.55 crore. The new model is available at BMW dealerships across India and effectively replaces the standard M5 in BMW India’s line-up.

Design-wise, the M5 Competition sports a number of M-specific changes over the standard sedan, including gloss-black accents on the kidney grille, ORVMs, side air vents, rear diffuser and spoiler. M-specific twin exhaust and M5 Competition badging are also part of the package. It also gets a more aggressive side-skirt, front bumper and rear bumper, along with a high-strength carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof which is specific to the Competition model.
